If you love luxury chess gear but do not necessarily need every rook to arrive looking like it just graduated from finishing school, The House of Staunton Outlet is worth a look. Their “Outlet” section features imperfect, overstock, shopworn, and cosmetically flawed items at seriously reduced prices, with current markdowns reaching up to 72% off based on listed pricing.

One verified example: select imperfect chessboards previously listed at $895 are currently marked down to $249, which works out to roughly 72% off. That is the kind of discount that makes you suddenly very comfortable with the phrase “minor cosmetic imperfection.”

The Outlet inventory changes frequently and includes imperfect luxury chess sets, wooden boards, storage boxes, pieces, and tournament accessories. Most flaws appear to be cosmetic rather than functional, though each listing may describe imperfections differently. Shop now if your budget says “plastic tournament set” but your heart says “18th century grandmaster energy.”

There are important catches. Outlet items are typically excluded from coupon promotions, including percent-off coupon codes and many free shipping promotions. Inventory is limited, and many products appear to be one-off or low-stock pieces. Once sold, they may not return.

Eligible non-outlet items may still qualify for Free Worldwide Shipping to supported countries, but imperfect and outlet merchandise is specifically excluded from many shipping and coupon offers. Test checkout carefully before placing your order.

The House of Staunton clearance section is quietly delivering some legitimately strong markdowns right now, with discounts reaching up to 67% off based on current listed pricing. Yes, actual math was used here. No “marketing percent inflation” was harmed in the making of this deal post.

One of the biggest verified discounts currently listed is the CLEARANCE 2025 SuperNationals VIII 20 oz. Black Tumbler, marked down from $30 to $10, which works out to roughly 67% off. Other clearance finds include chess boards discounted from $179 to $79, plus apparel, tournament accessories, and select luxury chess pieces at major reductions.

Shop now if you enjoy the thrill of finding premium chess gear at prices that look like someone accidentally hung a queen. The clearance section includes boards, bags, drinkware, chess pieces, and collector-style items, though inventory appears limited on some products and certain items are already sold out.

Important note: clearance items are specifically excluded from coupon promotions and many shipping offers, so do not expect Memorial Day coupon codes to stack here. Test checkout carefully before ordering. Some items may still qualify for separate shipping promotions, but the site explicitly excludes many clearance products from standard free shipping offers.

If your school chess club, nonprofit, or tournament program is pricing out chess supplies for the season, House of Staunton has entered the chat like a grandmaster with something to prove. Their “We Will Not Be Undersold” promotion promises to beat qualifying competitor pricing by 10%, or they’ll issue a $50 House of Staunton gift card instead.

This offer is geared specifically toward schools, chess clubs, and nonprofit organizations that promote the game of chess. The minimum order requirement is $250, and there is no maximum order size. That makes this especially useful for bulk orders of tournament gear, classroom supplies, and club equipment.

The promotion applies on a per-product basis for identical items sold by both House of Staunton and a qualifying chess-focused competitor. Eligible product categories include plastic chess pieces, demonstration boards, vinyl and silicone boards, chess bags, clocks, medals, scorebooks, pins, pencils, and more. Shop now if your current supplier’s pricing has you feeling like you’re trapped in a bad middle-game position.

There are important exclusions. Amazon, eBay, Barnes & Noble, brick-and-mortar retailers, limited quantity offers, clearance items, Cyber Monday promotions, refurbished products, and free gift offers are all excluded. House of Staunton also reserves the right to verify all submitted quotes and prior orders before approving the discount.

To request the pricing match, qualifying organizations must submit a competitor quote or prior order and contact House of Staunton customer service directly. Eligible items may also qualify for Free Worldwide Shipping to supported countries, though exclusions apply for clearance, imperfect, shopworn, and non-coupon-eligible products.

Grab the deal before your rival chess club discovers it first.
